I’ve really enjoyed Matrix Games because their strategy titles have so much depth and detail. They can definitely take a bit of time to learn, and some of the interfaces feel a little old-school, but that’s part of the charm for me. If you love planning things out and getting pulled into long campaigns, there’s a lot to be excited about here. They’re not really quick pick-up-and-play games, but for wargame fans, they’re absolutely worth the time.

I ended up playing online matches with friends all weekend and felt kind of trapped in the best way. Everything ran smoothly, no laggy drama or weird issues, and it was way too easy to keep saying “one more game.”

I tried using the serial key, but it wouldn’t activate. It was frustrating because you expect that part to be simple, and it made me realize how much the setup experience affects your first impression of a product.

I waited way too long for the download to finish, and then... it wouldn’t even install. The installer felt messy and frustrating, like I kept thinking it was finally going to work, but nope. Disappointing experience overall.

Checkout was easy overall. It took a little longer than I expected, but since it still worked and I got my order through, I guess it was fine.

I like the idea of having the forums there for help and discussion, but they feel kind of ignored. I posted expecting at least some back-and-forth, and this is where it got annoying: community replies took a long time, and staff didn’t really seem to be around most days. It just made the whole place feel quiet and a little neglected...

The site feels kind of old and all over the place. I was just trying to find a game page, but it turned into this whole dramatic expedition through random menus and clutter. Checkout wasn’t much better either, it left me second-guessing what I was doing. It really needs a cleaner, more modern layout before people lose the will to continue.

I asked for a refund why was it so complicated? The replies were super slow, and it felt like they weren’t really bothered about helping me. It turned into way more of a hassle than I expected, so I probably won’t be using them again...

It took me a bit to get into it, but I can't say it wasn't worth it. Once I got going, learning actually felt good.

The prices already felt fair, but when the discounts popped up I acted like I’d just won some huge prize. My games ended up cheaper than I expected, checkout was super easy, and I saved a bit without any hassle. No complaints at all.

I ran into an issue with my order and reached out to support. To be fair, they did get back to me and fixed it in the end, but it took a few days and I had to chase them with a follow-up message. What annoyed me most was how it felt like their policies have little loopholes that let them move slowly without really taking responsibility right away. The site itself is fine and I don’t have a huge complaint overall, but when you’re waiting on an order problem, a faster response would make a big difference.

Matrix Games has been decent in my experience. I do appreciate that they keep patching and updating a lot of their games, even some of the older ones, because that’s not something every company bothers with anymore, right?

That said, the updates can be a little hit or miss. Sometimes you wait quite a while for a patch, and then it fixes one issue but somehow creates another one, which gets frustrating when you were just hoping to sit down and play without messing around.

Overall, I’d say they’re okay, just not perfect. I still usually check the forums whenever a new update drops, mostly because you never really know what changed or what people are running into after installing it...

I found the docs easy to follow overall, and they helped me get up and running without too much trouble. Sometimes you do have to jump around a bit to find what you need, but once you get used to it, it works fine...

I’ve used Matrix Games a handful of times now. Mostly fine. Not amazing, not terrible. Some days the site loads normally and I can browse around without thinking about it.
Other times, though, it gets kind of sluggish. Bigger game pages especially. A bit clunky, like you click something and wait just long enough to notice. Downloads did work for me, but one update dragged on longer than I expected.
The launcher was okay, but not super steady. Had to restart it once, which was annoying. Overall, I like the game catalog and I’d still use the site, but yeah. The performance side could definitely be smoother

I mostly like Matrix Games because they seem to care about the history side of things. The units, dates, maps, and scenarios usually feel like someone actually did the research, not just threw random stuff together. Some of the games can take a while to figure out, and yeah, a few look kind of old, but the historical detail is basically what keeps me coming back. Overall, it’s a solid place if you’re into wargames and that sort of thing

I had a hard time changing some of my account details, and the site didn’t really make it simple. Support did get back to me after about a while, but the whole process felt slow and a bit confusing. The games themselves are fine, but the account management definitely needs some work.

I was hoping to find more stuff I’d actually want to play, but the selection felt narrow to me. Compared to other libraries I’ve browsed, a lot of it seemed kind of similar, so I got bored faster than I expected

I tried to get into it, but the graphics feel dated and the whole presentation is kind of all over the place. It just Didn’t really pull me in, and I had a hard time getting excited about anything

I’ve been trying a few Matrix games on my newer Windows 11 PC and most of them have run just fine. One older game needed a little messing around to get it working right, but nothing too annoying. It’s not flawless, but it’s better than I expected for older strategy stuff. Anyway, it works
